3M Saudi Arabia Inaugurates Customer Innovation Center in Riyadh

New facility will introduce 3M technologies and innovations to the Kingdom’s consumers

3M, a global leader in research and development today inaugurated a state of the art innovation center at its new sprawling office facility in Riyadh.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Eng. Walid Abukhalid, Deputy Minister for Industry Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Mr. Timothy Lenderking, Chargé D’Affaires of the United States of America in Saudi Arabia, who were given a guided tour of the innovation center by H.C. Shin, Executive Vice President, International Operations, 3M, USA and Irfan Malik, Vice President, Middle East and Africa 3M.

The 3M Innovation Center is a testament to 3M's commitment to answering the ever increasing needs of companies and consumers in Saudi Arabia and around the world. It is designed to demonstrate our 46 core technology platforms and how these technologies combine together and result in unique and innovative solutions. This allows the 3M Innovation Center in Riyadh to better address customer needs resulting in more effective and customized solutions created specifically with the harsh weather conditions prevailing in the region in mind.

Located in the Business Gate, Cordoba District in Riyadh and spread across a cumulative area of 1100 square meters, the newly unveiled innovation center now takes the global tally of these specialised 3M Customer Innovation Centers to 37.

“Saudi Arabia is a priority market for 3M globally and we are committed to making investments in resources and facilities to enhance our presence and be closer to our customers. Over the past few years, we have made rapid progress towards expanding our presence in the Kingdom and, with the launch of the Innovation Center in Riyadh, we bring our technologies and innovations closer to consumers in this important region,” said Ifran Malik.

“The Riyadh Innovation Center will draw upon 3M’s global R&D strength and 46 technology platforms to provide solutions for local customers to address their emerging needs throughout the region. When touring our Innovation Center our customers will discover the magic of 3M’s innovation by experiencing it as they will see, hear, touch, and interact with our technologies that have virtually transformed the way we lead our lives” added Osama Hammoudeh, Managing Director, 3M Saudi Arabia.

Customer Technical & Innovation Centers are unique to 3M around the world and serve as a mechanism for customer-inspired innovation. The first facility of its kind in Saudi Arabia and only the second in the Middle East and Africa region, the Riyadh center will now offer potential customers, business partners, and research and development experts the exciting opportunity to test a host of 3M’s often ground-breaking innovations. The Center will also be a hub for training and product application in the Kingdom and will be at the core of new product and service development across all 3M businesses that include Healthcare, Industrial, Consumer, Electronics & Energy, Safety & Graphics as well as 3M’s verticals such as Oil & Gas and Construction.
